Six Vietnam MIAs Buried at Arlington

Six U.S. airmen who had been missing since 1966 were buried as a group in Arlington National Cemetery Nov. 5, 2004. Their remains had been recovered in Laos in 1995 by a team from the Central Identification Laboratory in Hawaii (CILHI) and subsequently identified from dental charts, X-rays and DNA tests.

The airmen—Col. Theodore E. Kryszak; Col. Harding E. Smith; Lt. Col. Russell D. Martin; Chief Master Sgt. Harold E. Mullins; Chief Master Sgt. Luther L. Rose; and Chief Master Sgt. Ervin Warren—were aboard an AC-47 gunship that crashed June 23, 1966, about 30 miles northeast of Tchepone, Laos, during a night time reconnaissance mission.
