Dear Brothers,

As you should be aware, our FUND RAISING EVENT is rapidly approaching, it is SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23, AT THE LAPORTE VFW POST 1130 - DOORS OPEN AT 6:00 PM!!!!!! As usual we can use all the help we can get. If you have not yet dropped off items to be raffled or given as door prizes, bring them to the event, and get their before 7:00. We will need people the night of the event to help with the raffles, tickets, etc. This is your chance to help the Chapter!!!!!!!!!!

Are you registered to vote? As surprising as it may sound there are people who do not vote. It is your right as an American to elect our leaders. Every American who is eligible should vote ESPIALLY VIETNAM VETERANS. If you are not registered, get it done ASAP.

Speaking of voting, Vietnam Veterans election of officers isn't held until April 2000, but I have an announcement concerning that election. I have thoroughly enjoyed being President for 8 terms now, but I feel it is time for a change of lead leadership I am hoping there is someone who will accept this position and attack it with the drive and enthusiasm that I have tried to sustain. I have many other interests that I have tried to maintain, and it is to the point where something must give. Besides, I think a change of administration will be good for the chapter; new ideas are always a good idea. DON'T WORRY I wont be like past officers and members who have seemingly wrote us off and abandon us, I will still attend the meetings when I can, I will help all I can with fund raisers, and of course, I will be at the 4th of July parade always. NOW IS THE TIME TO GET INVOLVED WITH THE CHAPTER.
