Dear Brothers;
At our regular meeting on April 14, election of officers was held with the following results:
PRESIDENT: Rich Mrozinski
VICE PRESIDENT: Pat McGrath
SECRETARY: Bob Buckner
TREASURER: Paul Ewing
SGTIAT-ARMS: Jerry Scrivnor
By an unanamous vote these officers were also elected as BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
Special Guest Elmer Swan, Readjustment Counseling Technician from the VET CENTER in Highland Indiana gave a very interesting presentation outlining services and programs available to all veterans. We hope to ask brother Swan back to future meetings.
We are in the final planning stages of our Memorial weekend re-dedication ceremony at Soldiers Park, Laporte. We will sign a contract with the engraving experts within the next few days. The work will be completed within the next month. The names of LaPorte County men who were killed in Vietnam will be engraved on our monument stone. The rededication ceremony will start at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 29. I sincerely hope to see MANY members in attendance.
It is not too early to start planning for the July 4th parade in LaPorte. We can always use more guys.1 All you need is camouflage fatigues and a boonie hat, and you are ready If you have never been in the parade with us, I can't en begin to explain what a great experience it is. GIVE IT A TRY, you will probably love it.
Our next regular meeting is Wednesday, May 12, 7:00 PM, LaPorte VFW Post 1130.
