Newsletter January 99
Dear Brothers,
I would like to wish everyone a safe and prosperous 1999, and I hope it a good year for you and your family. I also hope it is a prosperous year for or organization, and it will be if we all pull together.
Saturday, January 15, we had our annual "Christmas party" at the Michigan City Holiday Inn, with 45 people attending. I'm sure everyone in attendance had a great time, and it was nice to see so many happy faces. We discussed the need for or organization to raise money this year, which we will do at our fund raising function, March 20. We will need help to put this all together and make it work. Full details will be worked out at our next regular meeting on February 10, 7 PM, at the LaPorte VFW Post 1130. Please plan to attend.
In the meanwhile, we need things for door prizes and tip board prizes. At our last fund raiser, we had a host of items to give away such as dinner for two at various restaurants, T-shirts, car washes, etc., and that is what we are looking for now for the next fund raiser. So start beating the streets and lets see what we can come up with. Bring whatever you come up with to the next meeting, or to the fundraiser. We will also need help the day of the fundraiser, so plan to come early and stay late. Believe me, we have been spending more than we are making, we need to make some money. And if this fundraiser is to be a success, we need YOUR help!
The next meeting will be the cut off for ordering your official JACKET. You must let Paul Ewing know by February 10, and we will be ordering the new jackets probably the next day. The price will be between $35 and $40. If you want it personalized with your name on the front, it will be a few dollars more. These jackets are only available to MEMBERS AND THEIR IMMEDIATE FAMILY. Order yours now by attending the meeting, or send information to our mailing address: VIETNAM VETERANS INC.
