Newsletter May 2000 Dear Brothers; At the last regular meeting election of officers took place as follows. PRESIDENT Rich Mrozinski Our past secretary Bob Buckner stepped down for the first time in many, many years. Bob promised he would still attend meetings and events, but he needed a break. I can't begin to tell you how much Bob has meant to this organization. Bob is one of those guys that are always there when you need something done. Bob endured the fund raising events of the past when there was a lot more work for a lot less money. Bob is always on time, never complains, and makes sure the job is done right. I personally have come to depend on Bob for so many and I always try to be careful not to take him for granted. Besides being a very important part of this organization, he is a really great guy, and a very special friend. Memorial Day is, coming up soon, and we have an event, planned, for Monday, May 29, at 10:00 AM, at our monument in Soldiers Memorial Park, Pine Lake Ave. LaPorte In., We will dedicate a special stone to the memory of two LaPorte County men who are still listed as POW/MIA. Donald Trampski and Charles Lindewald never returned from the war, and we want to ensure everyone we will never forget that. The ceremony will be short, so try to attend if you can. IF YOU HAVE NOT YET PAID YOUR ANNUAL DUES, THEY ARE OFFICIALLY OVER DUE! Please send $12.00 to: VIETNAM VETERANS INC. P.O. BOX 8589 MICHIGAN CITY, IN. 46360 It is not too early to start planning for the, July 4th Parade in LaPorte. We are already entered, and this year’s theme is stars and stripes forever'. If you want to be in the parade, you need cammie fatigues,.boonie hat, and enough energy to march about 1 mile. We will meet at the bread store parking lot at Lincolnway and Adams streets at 0930 AM on the 4th of July. I hope we have a big turnout.
