Six JPAC recovery teams consisting of approximately 72 personnel
departed Hickam AFB this week to conduct recovery operations in Europe
and the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

Europe: Two recovery teams will conduct operations associated with
missing Americans from World War II. The first team will be searching
for information associated with a B-24 airplane crash in Hungary, while
the other recovery team will gather information on a B-17 airplane crash
in Austria. This is the 07-1EU mission in Europe.

Lao PDR: Four recovery teams consisting of 53 JPAC personnel will
conduct recovery operations for multiple ground and airplane crashes
associated with losses from the Vietnam War. This is the 100th Joint
Field Activity for Laos.

Evidence gathered from both missions will be transferred to the JPAC
Central Identification Laboratory for further analysis and
